PSG was formed in 2006 with the primary objective of building a national, high quality electrical and communications contracting solution for large scale, complex construction projects, and effective operational and essential asset monitoring and maintenance services across national accounts Australia-wide. To achieve this objective, PSG acquired seven of Australia’s largest, most experienced and entrepreneurial electrical contracting companies who each were industry leaders within their chosen fields.

PSG Victoria, formerly Elecraft (joined Group in February 2006)

Established in Victoria in 1976, Elecraft provided a diverse range of services including design and construction of complex infrastructure projects, security, energy efficiency, building automation solutions and switchboard design and manufacture. PSG Victoria is best known for its extensive experience in constructing major health and other iconic develops in Victoria, including the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Melbourne Convention Centre and the major shopping precinct Chadstone Shopping Centre.

PSG Tasmania, formerly Russell Smith Electrical (joined Group in February 2006)

Established in Tasmania in 1977, Russell Smith was unquestionably Tasmania’s leading electrical and communications contractor. Russell Smith developed a legacy for being the contractor of choice and participated in almost all industrial and mining plant development projects delivered within the island state. Iconic projects successfully undertaken by PSG Tasmania include the Bass Link Connection project, the Allegiance Mine development, and most recently, the roll out of the pilot NBN project in Tasmania.

PSG South Australia, formerly Boffa Russo (joined Group in July 2006)

Established in South Australia in 1980, Boffa Russo was dominant in retail centre development, health care and government funded infrastructure development. Projects successfully completed by PSG South Australia include Lyell McEwin Hospital, Harden Network Army Complex and the series of 6 PPP Super Schools.

PSG Queensland, formerly Richard Flanagan & Co (joined Group in September 2006)

Established in Queensland in 1987, Richard Flanagan & Co had extensive experience in large scale infrastructure projects within the water and waste water treatment plants in South East Queensland, and correctional and health care facilities. Recent projects undertaken by PSG Queensland include the iconic Brisbane Supreme Court and District Court project, the Lotus Glen Correctional Centre and the Gold Coast University Hospital HV system.

PSG Manufacturing, formerly PM Switchboards (joined Group in February 2007)

Established in Queensland in 1972, PM Switchboards specialised in the design and manufacture of low to medium voltage switchboards and energy efficient substations. PM Switchboards was very successful in developing their own arc fault tested MV switchboards and quickly became the preferred supplier for the mining sector. PSG Manufacturing has been supplying DC control units to the rail locomotive industry for several years and most recently secured a period contract with Energex to supply packaged dry type transformer units.

PSG Tasmania, formerly Hawtree Electrical (joined Group in September 2007)

Established in Tasmania in 1983, Hawtree Electrical provided electrical and communications solutions to Tasmania’s high end commercial and executive residential developments. Shortly after acquisition, this business unit merged with Russell Smith Electrical.

PSG New South Wales, formerly KRS Electrical Services (joined Group in Oct. 2009)

Established in NSW in 1968 and subsequently branching into the markets of Queensland and South Australia, KRS Electrical Services were market leaders in the roll out of national retail and supermarket construction asset maintenance services. PSG has since leveraged the capabilities of this business, increasing the number of national key accounts in this area.

Since 2006, PSG has worked tirelessly to integrate and leverage the individual experience and specialties of each of the Group members, whilst developing blue chip partnerships and joint ventures with specialist providers, to ensure we can offer one of the most comprehensive and fully integrated portfolios of electrical and communications service capabilities to customers throughout Australia.
